Saturday 9: Bye Bye Bye

Image
Hey everyone! I hope you had a very merry Christmas, or if you're not a Christmaser, I hope you had a truly happy occasion that you do  celebrate. Ours was pretty good! I have some returns and exchanges to facilitate, but not too many, I think. I believe everyone here liked the vast majority of their gifts. And while we didn't make it to our plans of the movies on Christmas Eve or the light festival on Christmas down in Ocean City, there's still time for both. Around the corner, a week from right now, is our 25th anniversary, which we're both so excited about! But enough about me, let's see what's rolling around in Crazy Sam's noggin this weekend! Saturday 9: Bye Bye Bye (2000) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. From Sam: ♥ "This song was chosen because it's time to say goodbye to 2025.   Thanks for participating in Saturday 9 this year." ♥ 1) In this song, a man predicts his lover will start an argument. Is there anyone in ...

Saturday 9: Happy Holidays

Image
Hi everyone, and soon, Joyeaux Noël! Things are well underway here, and I feel we should be fairly well set for Christmas Adam, Christmas Eve, Christmas, and the days that lie after... C'mon, we can't be the only ones who call it that! If you're joining in the fray this weekend, be sure to put up your link here so we can all visit you and make the most delightful remarks. I was all set to do so this last week (although 2-3 days late, when I finally posted mine), but my cord for my laptop bit the dust. I've been making my crankiness about it  very  well known, so I'm sure everyone here is relieved the replacement finally arrived last night! Let's get these sleighbells shakin', shall we?: SATURDAY 9: HAPPY HOLIDAYS  From the Archives 1. As you can see, when Sam Winters was a little girl, she loved giving her annual wish list to Santa. If you could ask Santa for anything at all, right now, what would it be? Whatever it is that is going to take away the seari...

Saturday 9: First Christmas

Image
Good (Friday) evening, y'all. It's been a bit of an age since I've participated. I'm just having a renewal of the deepest part of my grief since losing my son after he took his own life about 15 months ago. I'm trying to surface, but it's very hard. Probably thanks to the bing, bang, boom of the holidays coming through. I'll try not to bring things down with my post. I see we're following Diane Keaton's song after her passing last year. Crazy Sam has a link to it in the Sat9 post, so make sure you go to that, join us, and link up here ! Saturday 9: First Christmas (2024) Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here. 1) The song mentions snowmen and snow on a windowpane. Has it snowed near you yet? Photo Credit: Chloë Odette We don't get a lot of snow here on the DelMarVa Peninsula (I'm in the Maryland portion of that), but yes, we did actually get snow! Not a lot, and it rained and was all gone with a quickness, but you can see here tha...
