 Hello, everyone. I am Melanie. 

I know some of you will know me right away. Hi! Glad to see you! Others may not, but hey, you're very welcome here, too!

So. I'm here because, after 18 years of keeping my main blog, then later my blog about our European trip, and eventually our kids' tween-aged blogs, Typepad is going under. They gave us (in writing, via email) until September 30th to export our blogs, right? So here I am on September 7th, with no way to export anything, because my blog has apparently been obliterated. I didn't get it in the separation. I'm so glad I hadn't started writing about our trip to Japan yet.

Eh. Oh well. I'm trying to see that and reframe it as a good thing, but for right now, I wanted to get started with a post over here. I still have a LOT to learn!

  Hello again, all. I try, I try to stay on top of writing, but the days and weeks just get away from me. So I bring to you another Saturday 9 from Crazy Sam and the crew (and a not-bad looking Robert Redford [RIP]), with promises to try writing other things during the week, too. Noo, those aren't  my fingers crossed behind my back! Today's song choice is Scott Joplin's "The Entertainer." I think the last time I came this  up close and personal with this song, it was 1991, and I was 14 years old and on my first cruise. We were on the Carnival Ecstasy's inaugural year, close to the beginning, which my dad and his wife were stupidly so proud about. But I digress. There was a talent show. Two of the guys I was hanging out with had a younger brother who played piano and used this for his talent piece. I cannot remember if he won. Hello, friends. I woke up late after building up a massive sleep debt this past week, and now I'm watching the University of Miami game (my alma mater) against SMU, which we're currently winning. It's still pretty early yet, though. (P.S. Nope, we went to overtime and did not  win. Sigh.) This week's song is calle "Angie's Baby," which I haven't heard before. Yet. Hey, y'all. I haven't posted with you guys in a long while; my short and sweet explanation is that there isn't one, really, except for a bundle of new health fears and problems, and I just haven't been up to it. Week after week, I've tried and let myself down. I've missed you. So here I am, hopefully making it through to the end, if you'll have me.
