Petition: Ask Amazon to Ditch Its Plastic Packaging in Lieu of Their Paper Ones

 Hi guys,

I'm going to start putting petitions and other action items here as somewhere to keep what is important to me together. You can look at it or not, ignore it instead of being offended (please), sign or not (the first would be great!), but in any case, this is where I'm putting them while I try to build this little blog that could up. I have no real platform here anyway, so there's probably no one TO offend!

Hello,
Did you notice that Amazon recently started shipping some of its orders in a new, lightweight paper mailer that can actually be recycled via your curbside recycling program?

While it's not zero-waste and it's not made from recycled paper, this paper mailer is still a BIG, plastic-free improvement over the plastic mailers Amazon has been using almost exclusively for the past few years.

The only problem is that Amazon is not using it much... yet.
Amazon should drop its plastic bubble wrap mailers and switch to these paper mailers immediately.

Join us in pushing Amazon CEO's Jeff Bezos and Andy Jassy to make the switch now: click here to urge them to make this change.

A December 2020 report by Oceana estimates that Amazon generated 465 million pounds of plastic packaging waste in 2019 of which 22+ million pounds is now polluting the world’s oceans and waterways. And the problem has only grown worse since COVID began as the pandemic has fueled huge growth in Amazon sales.
Switching to their 100% paper mailer would be a step in the right direction.

Please take a moment right now to email Amazon's CEOs to urge them to make the switch >>

Then please help spread the word - you can forward this email to your friends or use the links below to share this quick action on social media.

Thank you again for everything you do to help protect our earth and all its inhabitants from plastic pollution.

Best,
Eve Fox
Digital Director, Beyond Plastics

P.S. Please consider making a secure, tax-deductible online gift to support our efforts to convince Amazon.com to commit to plastic-free packaging.

If you sign, I'd love to know, but of course you aren't obligated. Yours in solidary, ~m
